I made this background and then realized that it was the background I’ve been needing to execute the DNA painting. I had this idea for a painting ever since Dmitriy was telling me about a design if he was going to get a tattoo.

I set out to do a spacey painting. My inspiration came from the sunray pattern my friend Mike was creating on a canvas next to me and a bouquet bought for me. Some days it really seems like the beauty around you wraps around your limbs and forces you to pay attention.

Making paintings to cover up the blemishes on the walls in the old house. I enjoy layering. I’m not sure this one is completely done yet. Might add more.

The late post for this drawing I made collaboratively with Chicago artist, Brandon Kennedy, on September 4th. We were waiting for our deep dish pizza at an eatery downtown and thought to amuse ourselves with a ball point pen.
