Part of what promises to be a new series that will help me with French vocabulary. I have a box of french flashcards that I pull randomly from. Another one I pulled and cannot think of a picture for “nettoyer.” It means to clean.

First off, I loved that secquence in Fantasia with the pegasi and centaurs. I always thought they were elegant and graceful. Woodland creatures of winter has been my theme recently. A painting prayer for snow, perhaps. Here’s me as Mr. Tumnus. Short legs. Thanks to Dan for the comment about the brown trees.

Thought I’d practice some figures without attention to the background. Painting over geometric canvas. It is huge and I started from the bottom. If there were more room at the top, imagine stick figure gazelles.

I don’t remember why I wrote down fox in my ideas for paintings notebook, but well, there you go. I like the idea of going through the animals in all the kingdom just so I know which ones I like painting best. Wintry scene for a winter day… I’m not sure how to paint rain……

Aaron and I went bouldering today. We were discussing human’s fascination with doing stuff it wasn’t designed to do. Like flying. Here are some mountain goats in their element.

Hurakami’s “What I talk about when I talk about running” mentions a white heron flying over him while he’s running. I don’t remember the last heron I’ve had in a painting, but it’s been too long. The deer’s head looked too small, so I added petals. Ear/Antlers= Earlers….? Don’t ask me about the flower hanging…
