I was inspired by a picture in a book about Patti Smith. I was inspired by a friend talking about barbed wire. I was inspired by all the positive feedback for these canines I’ve been painting. Neon-esque. Fun.

From the fiddling with the pieces after a game.

Thanks to Mike and his smart phone, beautiful patterns made with Go pieces are no longer the ephemeral treasures once thought. Own one today!

    February 5, 2010

Last night I went to the Pioneer Square Art Walk. I was inspired by Jennifer Phillips. She painted on the scrabble tiles little landscapes. I thought how cool, two things I love. Word games and art. Here’s my variation on that theme.

  • Magical Destiny

    February 1, 2010

At Balderdash Books and Art in Greenwood, Seattle WA…

    Magical Destiny

I love acrylic paint. Growing up in Hawaii has encouraged in me a love of environmental serenity and beautiful views. My favorite paintings involve vibrant colors and natural elements, mostly flowers and trees, a reminder about how estranged we are from nature. I call this series Magical Destiny. I’ve been unemployed for the past month and created these works. With my free time, I’ve discovered a new concept of my future that involves making art a sustainable reality. Welcome to my first show.

Come to the Greenwood Art Walk February 12th!

    Show ends March 1st!

I feel like my series is dying. More complexity? Variety? Focus?

Haruki Murakami=awesome. I recently read his fictitious book about unicorn skulls and paperclips.
