The candles are reminescent of the halloween theme I have been toying with. The white daffodils come into play a bit bolder here. Correctional fluid makes it possible. The idea behind it is “counter factuals,” the idea if things weren’t the way they are. I like it. Thanks Ryan and Sarah.

  • White Daffodil

    October 15, 2009

I was sitting in a cafe in Belltown, looking at sweet paintings of white flowers and having a nice conversation

with Sara S. We suspected the flowers to be many things. One of our suspicions became the inspiration for this painting.

Meranda said if I was so inclined a SkeletonTree would be nice to paint. She just meant a tree sans leaves. I thought of this.
I was reading a book the other day where the art was done with correctional fluid. It inspired me to get one of those pens for nyself.
    Used here.

More interior decorating for the upcoming Pumpkin Party. Quote from Albert Camus: Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.

Wall hanging with pumpkin has a french quote: “Je ris merveilleusement avec toi.  Voila la chance unique. C’est bon.” Credit to George Braque.

  • Pumpkin Series

    October 7, 2009

Getting ready for a halloween-esque party and decorating is called for. I am not as passionate about this as I would like. It feels uninspired.
I will hopefully get some more developments.

  • Fall Forest

    October 5, 2009

The crisp autumn reminds me of so many things. It is a very nostalgic season. Everything is getting colder and rushing around. A visitor to my store inspired this. A feeling of distance and dreams. I like the versatility of having different panels. Depending on the day, I could make the figures face towards or away from each other.

I’ve been working a lot and have momentarily run out of steam, I guess. Here are some of my efforts of today. I have no inspiration. When left to my own devices, the tree thing seems to come up.treenight

And I think the clusters of strokes are supposed to be willow trees, though it started out as a little waterfall. I think it’s pretty though undeveloped.
